'Experience Joy' Oversized Tee

$40.00

The AS Colour Heavy Faded Tee, crafted from 100% carded cotton for durability and comfort. With a heavy 7.1 oz weight and garment dyed finish, it features a boxy oversized fit, dropped shoulders, and twin-stitched wide neck ribbing. Built to last for a timeless, relaxed look. Features dwarf poppy and Indian Paintbrush natives, that grow in the high desert. The backdrop features Smith Rock.

With today’s political climate, especially with the focus being on he survival and/or attacking of minority groups- I found it fitting to depict survival, but beyond survival, JOY. The pure act of experiencing true joy, as a minority or oppressed person, is often the focus of hate groups that hone in on that using fear based tactics and false information. Time and time again, as history has repeated itself, symbols of joy are used against these minority groups, to strip them of their joy and ultimately their humanity. Experiencing and reclaiming that joy is simply an act of resistance in our country that touts freedom, but freedom for whom we ask? Metaphorically, it’s similar to local native plants that thrive and grow in abysmal conditions like our high desert. The Dwarf poppy and Indian paintbrush are two stunning flowers that paint our beige landscape with their beautiful colors.
