Common FAQs

Where are you located?

We are located in Midtown Bend, aka the “Bend Central District”. Our space was the former “Gear Peddler” business for over 15 years. It’s just on Greenwood and 2nd st. as you head West towards downtown. If you are coming East from Newport ave, you must turn on 1st or 3rd and circle onto 2nd due to a road divide on Greenwood. (Yes, we were previously in the Old Mill)

Do you have [said plant]?

Possibly, I will always try to source a plant you want, but it may take time. I also try to only source from the PNW as plants are hardier to our hemisphere. Also, please realize that trending plants on Instagram are near and far and I most likely won’t have many (if any) at my shop. We do have a request list in shop, so call the shop (don’t Instagram) to see if we have something or better yet- come on in!

Do you use fertilizer and/or pest control?

We offer an array of fertilizers from slow release, to organic powders and liquids. As for pest control, we offer a handful of treatments as well based on the infliction. So come on in and bring a photo or an infected leaf IN A BAG to prevent spread!

Do you repot plants?

Our current policy as of May/2021, is that we will only repot a plant and pot purchased in store at the moment of purchase as a curtesy. Like most shops around the world, we do not offer repotting services of plants and pots you currently own or got from us a while ago, i.e. a year ago. We like to educate and remind people that buying plants is a responsibility as they are living organisms. Repotting is not as scary as it may seem, and we can set you up with tips, tricks, soil, amenities, and more to help you be as successful as possible. Buying a plant is always a risk, just like a goldfish or a dog. Also, keep an eye out for our repotting classes!

My plant is dying, but I did exactly what your employees told me to! Help?

Yes, we try out best to give as concise information and knowledge on each plant species as we can, however it is still general care. We may suggest watering once a week, but depending on the amount of light you may place it in, changes that standard. We often frown upon plant apps as they stick to a rigid schedule rather than an organic one that follows the needs of the plant and trains the owner to recognize it’s needs. We are always trying our 100% best to help you and are never trying to mislead or give you false information. We offer an open help line and opportunities for you to seek out help should something start changing with your plant. We are a local plant shop, we are not mother nature (Sadly). Plants are living organisms and sometimes, they just don’t work out. Buying a plant is a privilege and a responsibility, just like a pet. <3

Do you know the name of this plant?

Usually we can identify at least the family the plant is in. We have over 600 species in the shop alone and usually know care tips based on its physiology. Just bring in a picture!

I bought this plant at [insert big box store here], why is it dying?

Though we love and celebrate all plants, we don’t have the time or resources to help you with all your plant questions. It is quite hard to offer advice on plants when we don’t know the history. We would love to help you with any plant you purchased in the store, so take a photo and bring it in! Thanks for understanding.

What are the costs of your plants?

We try our best to make all of our plants accessible to everyone’s budgets. Sourcing plants to Bend is not an easy task as there are zero local nurseries. We also try to source weird and unusual plants in our shop which often come with a higher price point.

Fun Fact: to compare plant prices of a big box store to that of a small business is like comparing apples to oranges, we can never compete with such low prices, however by supporting us you are keeping our shop afloat and giving to the local economy and diversity.

What is your return policy?

We accept unused hard goods such as pottery, fertilizers, hangers, and more within 30 days of purchase. It must be clean, unused, and without signs of damage.

As for plants, we can be flexible within 24 hours of purchase, however we like to remind people that 1 hour in a hot or frozen car can kill your plant. Plant purchases are final, however sometimes due to circumstances, we can work out or swap if the plant didn’t work in the space etc. (But, this is a rare case by case basis)
